distinctive features~ Buffy's neck on the right side has been bitten and scarred by the Master, Angel, and Dracula.
general appearance~
Standing at five foot three with the stature of a freshman in highschool, Buffy's appearance doesn't scream apopcalypse preventer. Her shoulder length blonde hair mixes with her shining life filled eyes to give her a valley girl esque look but mixed with her often masculine clothing and love for shoulder pads give her a don't mess with me look. Her clothing and sense of fashion can be as diverse as "Hi, I'm coy and shy" to "Hi, I'm Buffy, Queen of the skanks." Her arms match her legs in that they are a bit on the short side, but that doesn't hinder her ability to get a good stake in.
likes~
02. like~ Driving ~ Although the road should probably clear when Buffy is behind the wheel, she really loves the feeling of the acceleration and sense of control that she can exhibit over the car.
03. like~ Acceptance ~ Buffy needs a constant acceptance in order to thrive whether it be from her loyal friends or from her sexual partners or even the people she saves.
04. like~ Slaying ~ What can she say, Buffy enjoys putting long pointed pieces of wood through the undead. One less worry to deal with.
05. like~ Counseling ~ After a brief stint as the counselor at the now destroyed new Sunnydale Highschool, Buffy realized that she really liked helping people through their pain just like she had the help of Spike and her other friends after she had been pulled out of heaven. [/ul]
dislikes~
02. dislike~ Sleeping ~ The love/hate relationship that she has with sleep stems through the fact that her dreams are usually filled with visions of things to come.
03. dislike~ Disloyalty~ If you don't like Buffy or don't want to be her friend then just say so. There is nothing Buffy hates more than to think that someone she trusted turned out to be a backstabbing liar and deceiver.
04. dislike~ Vampire/Demons/Other forces of darkness ~ To be frank without these creatures Buffy would be able to leave a normal happy life, but no she has to deal with these things.
05. dislike~Death ~ To many people Buffy have loved have died. Even she has died three times. Death is something that she has accepted, but will never enjoy as part of her life.[/ul]
habits~
02. habit~ Unemployment ~ It seems as though every time Buffy gets herself a job, something pops up to make her either resign or be fired.
03. habit~ Avoidance ~ Whenever Buffy likes something is to big for her to handle, she will most likely avoid it until someone slaps it in her face enough times to make her do something about it.
04. habit~ Walking ~ Since Buffy isn't the best at vehicular operating, she spends most of her time walking places. She even sometimes herself walking without thinking about it letting her feet go where they want to go.
05. habit~ Nail Biter ~ Buffy has a horrible time about biting her nails. It's cliche but when you have to save the world on a daily basis, it's a nice safe stress reliever.[/ul]
strengths~
02. strength~ Leader ~ Buffy is good at taking charge of situations and groups of people. As leader she can be a bit bossy, but she only wants everything to go well with no or little injuries or causalities.
03. strength~ Loyalty/Friends ~ Buffy is about as loyal as they come. If someone needs her, she will do everything in her power to make sure that his or her needs are met and that he or she is helped. This strengthens her by her being able to count on others when she is the one in need.
04. strength~ Emotions ~ Buffy firmly believes that her emotions give her the strength she needs to fight. While others slayers and watchers believe that emotions are a hindrance, Buffy realized that if directed towards the right goal that her feelings are what drive her to keep continuing fighting the fight even when the odds are stacked against her.
05. strength~ Smarts ~ Although Buffy will never be a bookworm or a rocket scientist, Buffy knows how to think in pressing situations and find unique ways of solving problems that plague the situation. [/ul]
weaknesses~
02. weakness~ Insecure ~ Buffy has a problem with taking things way too seriously and as such believes that everything bad is her fault. This makes her insecure because if someone is hurt or even dies all the guilt she feels rides on her shoulders which makes her incompetent and unable to fight back.
03. weakness~ Gullible ~ Buffy is pretty gullible in the fact that if she is told that one of her friends in danger, she will walk straight into a trap that her enemies have set up for her without thinking twice.
04. weakness~ Impulsive ~ Buffy is known for jumping into situations without thinking over the consequences leading to negative reactions because of her impatience.
05. weakness~ Emotions ~ Although her emotions can be her biggest strengths at times, they can also be Buffy's downfalls. For example, she had the chance to kill Angelus(Angel) but wasn't emotionally prepared to kill her lover, but this lead to him killing Jenny Calendar instead.[/ul]
goals~ Buffy's goals now are to try to lead a more normal life now that the Hellmouth has been destroyed in Sunnydale. She however knows that her duty is never going to be over ,so now she is slaying wherever she goes and protecting the innocent.
secrets~ Although only her best friends know this, Buffy has died three times and has even been resurrected. The pain Buffy feels comes from the fact that she was ripped out of heaven after being brought back the second time.
overall personality~
Whereas most Slayers take their destiny as solely who they are, Buffy breaks all the rules and makes slaying just a part of who she is rather than everything she is. Sociable, spunky, and sassy, this girl is a handful to handle. she tries to maintain a balance between her Slayer life and her social life, but the two often blend together. As the Slayer, Buffy is confident, perky, and a bit over zealous about it at times. Buffy is flexible when dealing with her fights and lets the power wash over her as she commences her battles.
With her friends and comrades, Buffy is an all around good friend. She is caring to the point of recklessness and would do anything to make their lives better before she makes her own okay. However, Buffy is really bad about keeping secrets that might hurt her friends such as being pulled out of heaven or how she hurts inside. Although Buffy may seem resilient on the outside, Buffy has inner doubts and self loathing over the fact she never feels good enough. Yes, she may be able to avert the apocalypse at hand, but there will always be something more for her to do ,and sometimes she just doesn't now if she can deal with it. However, even with her insecurities, she will continue to fight for the world and the ones she loves.

history~
[[This is probably more than you want to know; I tried to abridge as much as possible but I get carried away doing histories. Also, this Buffy is post season seven and nothing in the comic season eight has happened to her.]]
Pre Sunnydale/Awakening of the Slayer
Buffy was born in Los Angeles to Joyce and Hank Summers in the later part of January. She had a normal childhood and was of the most popular girls in her schools. Her first traumatizing event occurred when she was eight and saw her cousin Celia die in the hospital after being attacked by a child eating demon, Der Kindestod, which she eventually killed later on in life. She also was an ice skater, but she eventually gave up this pastime.
When Buffy began attending Hemery High School, she became one of the top cheerleaders as well as Prom Princess and Fiesta Queen. However, also during this time, Buffy began to have awful prophetic dreams of monster slaying which was finally explained when Merrick came on the scene and explained to Buffy that she was the Slayer, the chosen one who alone will stand against the vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness.
Buffy and Merrick began training in preparation for Buffy having to face the vampire king Lothos. At first they didn't see eye to eye at all, but after a while Merrick began to appreciate the inner strength Buffy possessed. However, their Watcher-Slayer relationship was cut short by Lothos kidnapping Merrick, and to protect Buffy, Merrick committed suicide.
However, one of Lothos' minions used to go to school with Buffy and knew that she would be at a school dance in the gymnasium. Lothos and his followers attacked the gym and after her first real life or death fight, Buffy eventually slayed Lothos at great cost. She set the gymnasium ablaze and was expelled for her actions in the battle.
Welcome to the Hellmouth ~ Season One
After being expelled from her old high school and her parents divorce, Buffy and her mother, Joyce, moved to Sunnydale, California in an attempt to begin a fresh new life away from Los Angeles. However, destiny had other plans for her. On her first day at her Sunnydale High, Buffy ran into her new Watcher, Rupert Giles. At first Buffy claimed to have given up the whole slaying gig and refused to be heralded into fighting. During that day, Buffy came to be friends with social outcasts Willow Rosenburg and Xander Harris after her initial friend Cordelia Chase turned out to be a mean socialite. Later that night while at the local club, The Bronze, Buffy told Willow to seize the day which she did with a vampire. This triggered Buffy to reclaim her role as Slayer after saving her new friends from being fed to the Master.
During her first year there, Buffy, Willow, Xander, and Giles learn that they are actually living above the Hellmouth, a center of mystical convergence where the walls between dimensions start to bend. Also, there is a vampire king known as the Master who is trying to break free from his dimensional prison and continue opening up the Hellmouth and take over the world. After she prevented the Harvest from taking place, Buffy learned there was much more than vampires to worry about in Sunnydale. Buffy fought a bad witch, giant preying mantis monster, teenager possessed by hyenas, and a demon in the internet. In the midst of all this, Buffy fell head over heels for the mysterious bad boy Angel who she eventually learned was a vampire with a soul.
However, despite her attempts to keep the Master at bay, Buffy learned of a prophecy that foretold her death at his hands and went to stop him before he could reach the surface after initially trying to run from it . Buffy was bested by his hypnotic thrall and he used her blood to escape and left her to drown as he ascended and the Hellmouth opened. Luckily for her, Xander and Angel found her and Xander was able to revive her through CPR. This marked the first death of Buffy even if it was just a clinical one. After gaining consciousness, Buffy eventually found and destroyed the Master with only his bones remaining which closed the Hellmouth and left Sunnydale in peace for a summer at least.
Two Slayers and The Death of Love ~ Season Two
After a summer away with her dad in LA, Buffy returned to Sunnydale seeming to be a new angrier bitchier and overall uncaring person. However, after an attempt at reviving the Master and the her destroying of his bones with a sledgehammer, Buffy came to terms with her death and went back to being the normal Buffy everyone knew and loved.
Things in Buffy's life seemed to be going normally for awhile. She slayed and fought the forces of darkness without much thought. It wasn't until the vampire Spike and his insane lover Drusilla rolled into town that Buffy had a new adversary to worry about. Spike was known for his killing of slayers and Buffy began to be more watched by everyone including her unknowing mother who felt she was slipping from her studies and falling into her "bad habits". Buffy began to have doubts about what to do with her life when along came Kendra to help her fight against Spike who was going to sacrifice Angel to restore Drusilla's sanity. Kendra turned out to be the Slayer who was called after Buffy's death and Buffy though about letting her just take over. However, she came to the conclusion that as long as she was alive, she had to fight and protect.
On Buffy's birthday things began to go haywire for the Slayer and her friends. After losing her virginity to her vampire boyfriend Angel, he experienced one moment of true happiness which snapped him back into being his evil vampiric Angelus self rather than the soul filled Angel. Angelus quickly began to antagonize the Slayer and her friends as Buffy fought against her love for Angel and her need to kill him. When she had the chance to kill him, she didn't because of this love she had.
This was a bad decision on her part because later on Angelus killed Giles' lover Jenny Calendar and kidnapped him after he began to try to bring about the apocalypse by summoning a demon to suck the world into hell. His plans also brought about slayer Kendra's death. The only way to avert this apocalypse was for the Scoobies to either restore Angel's soul, which Jenny figured out before she was killed, or to kill Angel. Spike and Buffy struck an unusual alliance after Angelus had enthralled Drusilla and was trying to destroy the world. Buffy tried to stall the coming apocalypse even after her mother found out and tried to stop her with threats of disowning Buffy, Angelus was successful in opening up the world ending vortex. However, tragically, Willow put his soul back after the fact. Buffy had to do the unthinkable. She had to kill her lover to save the world. After embracing him for just a brief moment, Buffy plunged a sword through him and watched as he was sucked into hell. Emotionally plagued but what she had had to do, Buffy packed her bags and ran away without telling a soul leaving her mom and friends behind.
Graduation and The Dark Slayer ~ Season Three
After spending a summer in Los Angelas trying to start a new life as Anne, Buffy returned to Sunnydale with mixed results from those she had left behind. Although she felt insecure at first, her mother and friends allowed and showed that they were still behind her back after she tried to run away again. On her eighteenth birthday, Buffy was tested by the council by pitting her against a vampire and draining her powers. Buffy quit the council after this incident which left Giles jobless in a sense. Things were going fine for Buffy after being reinstated in school until Faith showed up in town and Buffy found Angel brought back from hell.
Faith was the Slayer called by Kendra's death and was reportedly watcherless and wanted to see Buffy for herself. Buffy and Faith were two sides of the same coin. Whereas Buffy slayed because it was her duty, Faith slayed for pleasure and fun. The two at first were distant and cold towards each other because Buffy was still insecure and felt as though Faith was trying to take over her life. However, Buffy became enthralled with Faith's way of life and eventually played along until Faith killed someone.
After this incident, Buffy alienated Faith further which drove her to find comfort with Mayor Wilkins III who turned out to have actually be about one hundred years old and founded Sunnydale for the demons to have a feeding ground until his Ascension which would be the day Wilkins would turn into a full fledged demon on graduation day.
The fight between Buffy and the Mayor culminated when Faith poisoned Angel with a magic arrow that could only be cured by the blood of the Slayer. Buffy went on a manhunt which eventually culminated in her stabbing Faith and leaving her in a coma, and Buffy herself had to give Angel some of her blood. After getting out of the hospital for loss of blood, Buffy began the plans for attack against the mayor.
After setting everything up and setting up the defense, commencement began with the Mayor as the key speaker. Halfway through his speech, the Ascension started and Buffy sprung her attack which involved the entire student body fighting as one. Buffy led the demon snake mayor through the hallways of Sunnydale High and after reaching the library, blew the school and the demon sky high. Believing it was best for the both of them, Angel drifted away to leave Buffy to live her life in college.
UC Sunnydale and The Yoko Factor ~ Season Four
After graduating and blowing up Sunnydale High, Buffy enrolled in University of California Sunnydale with her best friend Willow while Xander tried the bachelor life with his kinda girlfriend Anya, the ex vengeance demon. Buffy has a hard time adjusting to her new life and felt as though everyone was growing apart.
After attempting to secure a good place in her new life, Buffy was screwed over by a guy before beginning a new relationship with what she believed was a normal guy named Riley Finn. However, it turned out that he was part of the government group The Initiative which was run by Buffy's psychology professor Maggie Walsh. The Initiative was the government's anti-demon organization with specially trained soldiers who would detain dangerous demons. Spike was also captured and infused with a chip that would not allow for him to hurt humans without feeling immense physical pain almost like being tazed every time he attacked. However, its secret prerogative was to create a special breed of super soldiers by imbuing demon and human characteristics together with the first creature being Adam.
Buffy tried to be in the Initiative with her boyfriend Riley, but Maggie set some demons loose to try to kill her when she got to close to finding out about Adam. Despite this attempt, Buffy survived ,but Adam broke free of the Initiative and began trying to make more creatures like him. Although the Scoobies had broken apart over Buffy's college year with Willow falling in love with the lesbian wicca Tara, and Giles fully unemployed, and Xander doing his own thing with work, the team came back together to stop Adam by infusing their souls with Buffy to give her the powers of the First which was the only thing that could stop the beast.
After their fight, Buffy and the gang are attacked in their dreams by the primitive First Slayer who they had channeled in the fight against Adam. Buffy had a vivid dream where the First tried to convince Buffy that she must fight alone and that what she was doing was wrong. However, Buffy rejected the First's warning and told her that she was not the source of her and that her power came from both herself and her friends and with this rejection The First had no power over her and her friends.
The Keys to Life ~ Season Five
Deciding that college just wasn't her thing, Buffy decided to focus on finding out who she was as the Slayer and her role in the world. As her training with Giles recommenced, Buffy was affronted by Dracula who explained to her that she knew nothing of what was to come before Buffy slayed him numerous times until he left her alone. The next day Buffy had to take Dawn, her sister, on a date with boyfriend Riley.
After being warned of an attack through her family and her mother's constant headaches, Buffy believed that what was ailing her mother was of the supernatural variety. However, as Buffy searched for the mysterious assailant, she learned that Dawn wasn't all that she seemed to be. After threatening her, Buffy left to find Dagon Sphere which would protect her and her friends, but ran into a new assailant that seemed to be an indestructible female looking for a key. After saving the monk the woman was attacking, Buffy learned that this mystical key was actually Dawn and that she needed protection. During the following months, Buffy and Riley broke up and the gang searched for ways to harm this new threat, and Buffy in addition had to come to terms with the death of her mother Joyce after she suffered from an aneurysm.
As time progressed, Buffy and the gang learned that the mysterious woman was actually Glory, the goddess of an alternate hell dimension who needed Dawn to open a portal back to her own world. Buffy tried as hard as she could to protect Dawn but eventually Glory figured out that Dawn was the key and kidnapped her to perform the ritual to get back to her own dimension. Buffy and company arrived on the scene in time to fight off Glory who reverted to her human form of Ben which Giles killed because Buffy couldn't bring herself to kill and innocent human.
However, despite the group's attempt to stop the portal, one of Glory's followers successfully spilled Dawn's blood opening it up. Buffy realized that the only way to close it was for Dawn's blood to seal it close. However, she remembered something The First Slayer had told her and sacrificed herself in lieu of Dawn telling her sister "that the hardest thing to do in this world is to live in it." This marked the second death of Buffy.
I Think I Was In Heaven ~ Season Six
After one hundred and forty seven days of death, Buffy was resurrected by her friends Willow, Xander, and Anya. It took a while for Buffy to come to terms with her sudden new life. Consumed with deep sorrow, Buffy at first only told Spike that she had in fact not been in Hell like her friends had though, but instead she had been in Heaven. The others would not know this until a musical demon had everyone singing there deepest secrets as songs, and she told everyone this trying to save Dawn.
During the following time, Buffy began a sexual relationship with Spike in order to satisfy her hurting which ended in him trying to rape her and him skipping out of town to reclaim his soul after this horrible incident. Also, during this time, best friend Willow began to abuse her use of magic to the point where it hurt and eventually ended her relationship with longtime girlfriend Tara. As if the trauma of being pulled from paradise wasn't enough for the Slayer to handle, a group of nerds known as the Trio begin to torment Buffy and her friends.
Trying to get back in control of everything wrong in her life such as the house mortgage and her friends messed up lives who all seemed to be living with her, Buffy began a short term employment at the Doublemeat Palace, but this escapade didn't last very long at all with Buffy being the Slayer and all. Also, the Trio's constant bombardment of Buffy eventually culminated with Warren trying to shoot Buffy and also shooting Tara in front of Willow after they had finally gotten back together since Willow had been cutting back on her magic use.
This sent Willow over the edge and she absorbed all the dark magic she could to exact her revenge on Warren and the Trio. Although Buffy flat lined from her bullet wound, Willow took the bullet out and healed her wounds before going on her murderous rampage. Buffy tried to stop her best friend ,but failed when she fell into a hole. It was Xander's unconditional love for Willow that finally brought her back down from her dark high and prevented Willow from ending all sorrow with the apocalypse. Also, Buffy rised from another "grave" with her sister Dawn in hand and finally appreciated her new found life completing the cycle of grief and resurrection.
The Ending of a Line ~ Season Seven
After the near destruction of the world by Willow and her rehabilitation, Buffy felt like the world was finally going good for once. She had started training her sister Dawn in fighting and the whole gang seemed to be stable and happy even with the opening of the new Sunnydale High where Dawn attended. Buffy became the counselor at the new high school and helped people with the problems of being a teenager and the fact that Hellmouth activity occurred below the school.
However, unbeknownst to everyone, things were changing. Buffy's second resurrection brought the pendelum of good and evil far too close to the good side which gave for a loophole through which The First Evil, the embodiment of all evil and the source of it predating anything, could eradicate the Slayer line completely by killing off the Potentials, girls who would become Slayers if Faith were to die.
In the proceeding months, the war between Buffy and her army of potentials and The First Evil waged. Buffy summoned all the potentials she could and even had a redeemed Faith helping in the fight. The First had his minion Caleb and his Bringers kill off all the girls they could in order to keep Buffy isolated. After a particularly bad defeat, the girls turned against Buffy who had lost the girls to obtain the scythe but failed. Buffy and Spike had a deep heart to heart, and Buffy set off alone to obtain the scythe and was taunted by the First that she was and would always be alone.
This taunt prompted an idea within Buffy. Using the power of the scythe, Buffy asked Willow to awaken all the potentials' powers to become full Slayers and it actually worked and thus ending the Slayer line forever. Buffy then took the fight to the first in the Hellmouth. After a tremendous battle, Buffy channeled all the energy of the Slayer's into an amulet Spike had found to destroy Hellmouth and stop The First's Turok-Han army. It worked almost a little too well. The Hellmouth was destroyed as well as the entirety of Sunnydale. Buffy stood on the edge of the crater which was her home for the last seven years and knew that even though this war had been won that The First could never be destroyed and that the fight would always continue, but now she would never be alone.
rp sample~
The dim light of the off brand diner flickered with every turn of the hamburgers on the griddle. She sat at the very last bar stool stirring the sugar into the dark void that was her coffee. Her eyes scanned the empty room hoping the sun would rise soon so she could finally get some much needed sleep. Buffy cracked her neck a little too loud for the serene setting because the little old couple in the booth gave her a disgusted look. "Sorry," she apologized before turning back to her tasteless dark water.
The bell tingled as the shuffle of footsteps crossed the threshold with screams of terror floating through the now opened door. A familiar snarl also came floating behind him, and the Slayer made the all too familiar motions as she jumped from her seat. "Hey, some of us are trying to have a nice quite breakfast here, so buddy you're going to have to leave or there might be some trouble," she snipped at the vampire who had chased a hooker into the only thing open.
The monster turned towards Buffy, and she gave the man a smirk that screamed bring it. He lunged for her, but she had already sidestepped the attack making him fly into the jukebox behind her. The vampire got her back by knocking her feet out from under her and pouncing on top of her. Buffy struggled against him until she finally rolled them over. Acting fast she plunged the stake into his heart and fell as the vampire burst into a cloud of dust. "He'll have a steak to go," she commented to the terrified waitress who didn't seem to appreciate her humor. "What? It's the best I could come up with. God, no one appreciates my well timed puns anymore." Standing back up, Buffy sat her petite little frame back on the bar stool and brushed some dust out of her blonde flowing hair. She grimaced as the black liquid of her coffee passed over her tongue. "Gross."
