height~5'9"

distinctive features~ Has two hearts (not that you'd know that just by looking at him)
general appearance~
The Master has light brown eyes and light brown hair. This incarnation of him is on the shorter side for a man, standing only 5'9" tall. The Master has an average build. During his time as Prime Minister of the UK, he had no choice but to wear suits every day. And that habit hasn't yet left him, so suits it still is for the Master. After all, you can trust a bloke that wears suits, can't you? Suits also give him the distinct advantage of blending in with everyone else. It's never been more important for him to blend in than now when the Doctor thinks he's dead.
likes~
02. Gallifrey~ The Master believes that Time Lords are superior to all other species in existence. Gallifrey is the only place where you were guaranteed to find them but, of course, now that the Doctor has killed them all and destroyed Gallifrey, the Master has even more of a reason to loath his old friend.
03. Chaos~ He thrives on creating chaos and disorder wherever he goes. Sometimes the fun really is in the journey rather than the destination.
04. Power~ And sometimes the destination can be as fun as the journey. The Master likes to be in control of everything and everything all of the time.
05. The Doctor~ He won't ever admit this one out loud but there's always going to be a soft spot in both of his hearts for his old friend.[/ul]
dislikes~
02. Failing~ Most people dislike failing but when the Master's failures tend to mean dire consequences for himself.
03. Humans~ He believes humans are the greatest monsters of them all. The Master can't figure out why the Doctor has adopted them as his little pets.
04. Things that he can't control~ For someone who likes to create disorder wherever he goes, the Master doesn't like it when his own immediate world isn't structured how he wants it to be.
05. The drums~ The drums in his head that won't stop--that no one else can hear. He doesn't know it yet but the other Time Lords planted the rhythm in his head so they could use it as a kind of psychic link to find him in the future.[/ul]
habits~
02. Flaunts~ He doesn't mind letting others know about all of the wonderful things his brilliant mind has accomplished.
03. Taps out the rhythm of drums in his head~ They're always there; this is more of a subconscious habit of his.
04. Being inappropriate during serious moments~ There's nothing quite like a bit of humor at the very wrong moments.
05. Acts aloof when he really knows what's going on~ He sometimes lets others believe they have the upper hand on him just so they start underestimating him.[/ul]
strengths~
02. Genius~ He's the only being out there that is as clever and intelligent as the Doctor.
03. Blending in~ He may be a tad bit eccentric at times but he still manages to fly under the radar.
04. Getting what he wants~ He uses his brain and all tools necessary to reach his goals.
05. Determined~ He never gives up, although he's sure the Doctor wishes he would sometimes.[/ul]
weaknesses~
02. The Doctor~ If the Master weren't so stubborn, the Doctor might actual be able to persuade him to stop trying to take over/destroy the universe.
03. Himself~ He could never hurt himself. He could have destroyed the whole universe, once upon a time, but it would have meant his life ending too, and he couldn't do that.
04. Beautiful women~ He may hate human beings but he has his needs, like every other man in existence.
05. Stubborn~ He never knows when to call it quits.[/ul]
goals~ Get revenge on the Doctor, Jack, and Martha for stopping his latest plan; destroy/take over the universe (he isn't sure which one yet)
secrets~ Sometimes, in his deepest hearts, he wishes things could have turned out differently for him--that he could somehow mend fences with the Doctor and forget about all of the times the Doctor was his nemesis
overall personality~
The only two things that the two surviving Time Lords, the Doctor and the Master, share in common is the fact that both of them abound with cunning and wit, thanks to their brilliant minds. That's where their similarities end. The Master is vain and arrogant and considers human beings, the Doctor's adopted species, the greatest monsters of them all. His current incarnation can be said to be almost childlike. He basically told the Doctor that it was his turn to shine and is more oblivious and wanting revenge just for the sake of revenge than his previous incarnations.
The Doctor really tried to help this incarnation of the Master out; the Doctor wanted to help save him. But the Master, being as stubborn as ever, kept on refusing the offered help. The Master has a huge ego and doesn't mind rubbing his genius-ness in other peoples' faces, unlike the more humble Doctor. The Master is also perfectly fine with messing around with history because he's a Time Lord and there aren't any species out their superior to the Time Lords in his mind.
He has a healthy sense of humor and is a technological whiz. Sonic screwdriver that can't hurt a fly? Heck no! The Master has a laser screwdriver that can kill, which he constructed himself from things he was able to find on Earth. Despite his adversary's kindness, the Master still does respect him somewhat, although the Master does think he is superior even to the Doctor. As is also mentioned in his history, the Doctor believes the Master went insane when he looked into the Untempered Schism at eight-years-old. And, every since that day, the Master has been hearing a constant drumbeat (one-two-three-four...one-two-three-four...) in his head. A later Master finds out why that drumming is in his head but this Master doesn't know yet.
home town~ Gallifrey
current residence~ Nowhere in particular
parents~ Names unknown
siblings~ None
pets~ None
family~ None still alive
history~
The Master is known more formally as Koschei. He grew up in the House of Oakdown on the planet Gallifrey. One of his good friends growing up was the Doctor. The two of them would often sneak out of the Citadel, the home of the Time Lords, and go get drunk with the Outsiders who lived in the outskirts of Gallifrey. Like all Time Lords in training, at the age of eight the Master was taken to gaze into the Untempered Schism. It is was after that experience that one can say if that want to that the Master went insane, and it was definitely after that experience that he started to hear constant drumming in his head.
At the Time Lord Academy, the Master (and the Doctor) became members of a clique: the Deca. The group consisted of ten Time Lords in training who were the top ranked students of their class. It's not clear when or why the Master and the Doctor eventually fell out with each other but all that matters is that they did. When the Doctor ran away from Gallifrey, the Master was ordered to pursue him. But things didn't work out so well for the Master. The Doctor ended up trapping him a black hole; it was then that the Master swore to take revenge on the Doctor.
Various plots of revenge followed, all eventually failing at some point. During the Time War, the Time Lords brought the Master back to use him a weapon in defense of Gallifrey. But the Master deserted them as soon as the Dalek Emperor took control of the Cruciform. The Master fled to the very end of time of the universe. He used a Chameleon Arch (a nifty device that can biologically change Time Lords so that their cells register as another species) to become a human: Professor Yana.
The Doctor, Martha Jones, and Captain Jack Harkness soon found themselves at the end of the universe as well. They found Professor Yana and the surviving humans of the time in a silo. Professor Yana had been working on getting a rocket functional to send all of the refugees to Utopia--a place in space that will supposedly help save mankind from even the inevitable end of the universe. It was while Martha was alone with Professor Yana that she recognized his fob watch as being a Chameleon Arch. She prompted, albeit unintentionally, him to open it up, and thus Professor Yana became the Master again. He killed his assistant but not before his assistant was able to shoot him as well.
The Master made his way into the Doctor's TARDIS and regenerated. Before he could take off, the Doctor fused the coordinates of the TARDIS so that she could only travel between her current location and where she had last been (in the early twenty-first century), give or take eighteen months leeway either way. In those eighteen months, the Master was able to create a brand new person: Harold Saxon. He ran for Prime Minister and easily won the election, thanks to the Archangel Network he set up--a series of fifteen satellites orbiting Earth which sent out a signal of four drumbeats, encoded with a message to trust Saxon and vote for him--i.e., a fancy mind control network.
As Prime Minister, one of the first things he did was kill off the whole cabinet. A reporter soon came to the Master''s wife, Lucy, and told Lucy about his fake history. Lucy didn't believe any of it, and the Master was soon in the room. Four robotic balls appeared and killed the reporter. He then held a press conference, saying that these balls were the Toclafane, a new species that contacted him. In reality, the Toclafane were a myth on Gallifrey, sort of akin to something like the bogeyman.
The Master then had people capture most of Martha's family. He intercepted a call to her brother, and that's when he and the Doctor finally spoke together again. The Master let him know that he, Martha, and Jack were now officially public enemies with their faces all over the news, which sent the three of them into hiding. The President of the United States, President Winters, then came to London and told 'PM Saxon' that UNIT would have control over the first contact meeting with the Toclafane. Winters insisted that it take place on board the UNIT aircraft carrier the Valiant but assured 'Saxon' that the meeting would still be televised.
Soon Martha's captured family, the Master, Lucy, the President, various UNIT personnel, the Doctor, Martha, and Jack (the latter three using Jack's Vortex Manipulator and wearing perception filters so that they would remain undetected) were on board the Valiant. The Doctor, Martha, and Jack found the TARDIS on board but discovered that it had been turned into a paradox machine set to go off at 8:02 AM, two minutes after the first contact meeting was going to take place. The Doctor's idea to stop everything from happening was to put a TARDIS key around the Master's neck, for that would allow everyone to see him for who he truly was.
When the meeting began, the Toclafane weren't happy with the fact that the President wasn't the Master. The Master then revealed himself to all of those watching and ordered the Toclafane to kill the President, which they did. The Master had the Doctor captured (the perception filter never fooled the Master) and temporarily killed Jack. Using some genetic manipulation technology, the Master aged the Doctor by one hundred years. The paradox machine activated right on time, creating a rift in the sky from which billions of Toclafane descended .The Master ordered them to kill one tenth of the Earth's population. Jack, meanwhile, gave his Vortex Manipulator to Martha and she teleported herself back to Earth.
One year passed. All the while, the Master had humans building spaceships for him, while he stayed on the Valiant in relative safety. The spaceships were being built in preparation for a war with the rest of the universe. The Master then decided to age the Doctor even further, letting the world see all nine hundred years of him. He locked the small, old creature in a cage. Martha, on Earth, was able to capture a Toclafane and discovered that inside were the conscious remains of one of the humans she had seen at the end of the universe--one of the humans that were supposed to be going to Utopia.
The Master soon made a rare visit to Earth to capture Martha. She willingly let herself be taken. Back on board the Valiant, a countdown begins for the takeoff of all of the spaceships he had built. All Martha could do was laugh as she finally revealed to him what she had been doing on Earth for the past year. She told everyone she encountered to think about the Doctor at the same exact time the fleet was supposed to be launched. That thought alone from the whole World combined with the mind control Archangel Network gave the Doctor enough psychic energy to restore himself back to his normal form.
As the Master crouched down against the wall, the Doctor came over to him, embraced him, and spoke the words, 'I forgive you.' The Master, however, used Jack's manipulator to transport himself to Earth, and the Doctor came along for the ride. The Master revealed that each ship contained a black hole converter; if he couldn't have the planet, no one could. The Doctor called his bluff, knowing that the Master wasn't going to sacrifice his own life so easily. The Doctor teleported them back to the Valiant just as Jack was working on destroying the paradox machine. Once that was accomplished, time was rewound to right after the President's death.
The Doctor wanted to take the Master on board his TARDIS, to keep him as a prisoner. But then Lucy shot him and, instead of regenerating, the Master allowed himself to die, gaining one last victory over the Doctor. The Doctor burned his body and left. And that should have been the end of the Master but then he found himself alive again. He doesn't know how it happened. He was just dead, and now he's back.

What was the Master doing in bloody Cardiff? Looking for one man in particular, and, no, it was the immortal Captain Jack. As fun as finding that man again would be, the Time Lord had something much more fun in mind. He was looking for the man that went by the name of Ianto Jones. Jack's lover would be a much worthier catch than the Captain himself. What wouldn't Jack do to save poor Ianto's life from the hands of a psychotic Time Lord?
And there were two ways the Master knew he could go about things. He could have found out where Ianto lived and snatched him there or, if he was feeling very bold, had tried to grab him in the Hub when no one was around. The second option was to try and befriend the Welshman and, when he least expected it, officially kidnap him. The latter, of course, held various risks, like Ianto telling Jack about his new friend. But, seeing as someone like the Captain couldn't very well share personal information with anyone, the Master didn't think he'd have to worry about Ianto spilling out every single detail of his day to Jack.
So the Master had decided to opt for the more leisurely second route. It's not like he was in a rush to get to the Doctor, Jack, and Martha. He was going to savor every single second of this beginning of his newfound plan for revenge. He had watched Ianto like a hawk the past few days, memorizing the details of the man's routine. Any second now he should be able to spot him walking across the plaza for some fresh air. And, yes, there he was. The Master smirked to himself. Humans were so predictable.
He hurried over to Ianto, the smirk being replaced by what he hoped was a sense of confusion. "Excuse me, sir," he said, "Do you have the time on you?" An innocuous enough question. "You see, I have this business meeting to go to and silly me forgot my watch in my hotel room. I came down here figuring I'd have enough time to grab a cup of coffee or tea at a cafe but now I don't know if that will happen because I don't know what time it is, and I can't be late to this meeting." A question that didn't require an explanation but the Master loved the sound of his own voice...especially of this particular voice. He had to say that he had lucked out with this handsome, strapping incarnation.
