age && date of birth~ looks about twenty five or so, has only lived for about six months
gender~ female
species~ genetic experiment, mostly human

face claim~ Hayley Williams
fandom~ Supernatural
canon / original~ original
hair color~ red
eye color~ silver
height~ 5'8"
weight~ 95 lbs (and no, she's not underweight)
distinctive features~ Well, I'd think that the fact that she has wings would be a distinctive feature, don't you?
general appearance~
The first thing that strikes you when you see Riley is her red hair, either up in a ponytail or down around her shoulders. Then comes her eyes, more like molten silver than anything else. They alternate between a hard coldness when she's hunting to a soft, constantly shifting texture as she's calm and contemplative. The next thing would end up being her coat, which is long, green, and rather militaristic. The main reason she wears it is to hide the giant white wings she sports on her back. She was created to be an angel, or at least look like one, but she hates it, so she tries to hide her wings whenever possible. Nobody wants to be thought of as a freak, right?
likes~
As hunting is what she was created to do, Riley takes pride in her abilities and applies them to making the world a better place. She doubts that she'll ever stop, as hunting is just about the only thing she's good at. She wants to protect people, and so until the day that supernatural beings stop existing, she will hunt.
02. FLYING~
One of Riley's favorite things to do is go flying around places. People might call her an adrenaline junkie, but it's just so exhilarating to feel the wind beneath her wings and soar through the air like a majestic bird of prey. The place she really wants to go to fly around is the Grand Canyon, but she can never figure out when to go there and fly around without being noticed.
03. LATIN~
Latin has to be Riley's favorite language out of the oh so many she can fluently speak. Nobody speaks it as their native language anymore, and so the average person won't know what she's saying when she speaks it. Exorcisms go a lot easier when one can fluently speak Latin, as well, and so sometimes she'll use exorcisms of her own creation instead of the standard one. Brings a little variety to the job, ya know?
04. PEOPLE~
Riley quite likes people as a whole, part of the reason she uses her abilities to help them. As much as they'd denounce her as a freak and call her names if they ever found out about what she was, she knew that was just human nature: humans were scared and afraid of things that they couldn't explain or understand, which was why she had to protect them from the supernatural.
05. PROTECTOR~
Above all, Riley sees herself as a defender of mankind against the supernatural, be they vengeful spirits or hateful demons. She's resigned herself to living for others long ago, and so she doesn't really think about herself. She lives to hunt and protect people, not because she was forced to, but by choice.[/ul]
dislikes~
Though Riley isn't above killing people, she won't do it unless she has to, and usually she has a good reason for it. What she really hates is people who just kill for no reason, or for a horrible reason. It's not that she loves life, but it's that everyone has their own life, and to wrongly take someone else's is like playing god and deciding who lives and who dies. It reminds her of the scientists who played god and created an "angel," only to have the angel turn on them for being immoral.
02. BOREDOM~
One of Riley's main issues is being bored. She doesn't take kindly to having nothing to do, because when she is stuck in one place for a long time, she tends to either start thinking about everything and brood, or start stalking around and making problems out of peace. Either way, when she starts realizing what she's doing, she'll throw a sort of tantrum and start destroying things for lack of anything to do.
03. CLAUSTROPHOBIA~
She has a definite issue with small spaces, but she'll never admit to being claustrophobic. It's not even small spaces, really, it's just being enclosed. She has a natural instinct to fly, and so when there's a roof above her head or a locked door in front of her, she's uncomfortable to the point of being rather horribly paranoid. However, when she's in a small space and she can't spread her wings out, she starts to panic and will do just about anything to get out.
04. STUPIDITY~
Riley really doesn't like stupid people, or people who intentionally blind themselves to the truth because they can't handle it or they don't want to believe it. Some things are true, whether you want to believe them or not, and the only thing that deluding yourself does is just make you stupid. And regardless of what kind of person you are, stupidity isn't cute. It's stupid.
05. SCIENTISTS~
Seeing as how she's had bad experiences with scientists (the understatement of the year), she tends to not trust them as far as she could throw them. And she can throw them pretty damn far, in one piece or not.[/ul]
habits~
Most of the time, Riley doesn't exactly know she's being rude. She doesn't have enough experience with people and society in general to know what social norms are, and so her manners are lacking, her speech is lacking in politeness, and her everything really just doesn't fit with anything someone is supposed to be doing in any given situation.
02. MIND FUCKERY~
When I say mind fuckery, I basically mean all the forms of manipulation one could possibly learn. Her words are poetic and thoughtful, and she knows exactly what to say in order to get herself out of trouble. Of course, trust is a bit harder to get out of a person, but with a little patience and an air of "I know exactly what I'm doing," she gets the job done.
03. PARANOIA~
Normally, Riley is perfectly fine with things the way they are. However, when she gets a bad feeling about something, she starts to expect the worst of everything, and until she calms down, she's got quite a bit of paranoia that really doesn't want to leave her alone. Outwardly, she appears calm and collected, but a few glances in either direction, including behind her give her away.
04. AWKWARD~
Riley is most definitely awkward, and I mean that in a social kind of way. She's never had any sort of contact with the outside world, and she's really only six months old, and so she doesn't really know anything about how people are supposed to act and what the appropriate response to things are. She's willing to learn, though, if people get over the fact that she has wings and hunts demons and actually get to know her.
05. BREAKING THINGS~
Riley breaks things. A lot. Most of the time, she doesn't do it consciously, she's just intrigued by a lot of things that shouldn't be touched and are rather fragile, and then things just break. There's also the fact that she runs around without any real idea of where she's going, which ends up rather badly for the people who own the things she runs into. For a graceful angel, she has her klutzy moments.[/ul]
strengths~
Her psychic abilities, at the moment, simply consist of telekinesis, as she hasn't discovered how to use her other powers yet. Some of her other powers include telepathy, illusions, retrocognition (the ability to view what happened in a specific place in the past), a form of faith healing, and teleportation. She doesn't know she even has these other powers, as she left the laboratory and destroyed all evidence of her existence before learning of them.
02. WINGS~
Her wings are her pride and joy, as the exhilaration of flight is enough to wash all of the daily wear and tear of life from her mind. Most of the time, her wings are enough of a distraction to people that she can get away from the scene without much of a fight, not to mention the fact that she clocks in zero to sixty in just under two seconds. She is also rather good with midair combat, be it hand to hand or with weaponry.
03. PHYSICAL ABILITY~
Speaking of combat, Riley prides herself in her physical ability and combat skills. She's taken on a demon in a human martial artist meatsuit long enough to get off the exorcism and escape without serious harm. Of course, she had to lie low for a while with a couple of fractured ribs, but hey: she got the job done and that's all that really matters.
04. LATIN~
Seeing as how she was created to be a hunter and save humanity by stopping the Apocalypse, she was taught to speak fluent Latin for use in exorcisms. Most of the time, she doesn't just stick with the plain old "Exorcizamus te" one; she likes to shake it up and insult the demons while she's exorcising them. It's just more fun that way. Also, when she's angry, sometimes she'll unconsciously switch from English to Latin, which produces confused looks on the faces of the people around her.
05. HUNTING~
Riley was created to hunt, and so she's rather good at it. She keeps a detailed journal of all the things she's seen, heard, and hunted over the few months she's been hunting so she can reference back to it just in case she forgets anything or needs to help someone out. She doesn't particularly favor guns (she doesn't know how to use them), but she's got other ways of dealing with her prey. She's a damn good hunter; the only thing she's missing is the attitude.[/ul]
weaknesses~
Because Riley was created to be a hunter and stop the Apocalypse, there was no need to teach her anything other than how to hunt and take care of herself. They assumed that someone would be with her to take care of her other needs, and as such, Riley has absolutely no idea how to function properly in the real world. What she knows now has been learned through trial and error during the few months she's been on her own, but she's not doing very well with it and she keeps getting kicked out of places because she's "too weird," or something like that.
02. SOCIAL INTERACTION~
The scientists who made Riley really didn't plan on her ever meeting up with other people and needing to talk to them, and so Riley has little to no experience in a social situation. She constantly says the wrong thing, takes things for their literal meaning, has no knowledge of popular culture, and has no understanding of modern colloquialisms or slang. She speaks rather formally and detachedly, but she tries really hard to be relatively normal.
03. BOREDOM~
Riley definitely has an issue with boredom. When she gets bored, she either starts demolishing things or will wander off and start looking for either something to hunt or some kind of trouble she can get into and totally kick ass. Kicking ass is so much better than being bored, and as long as she doesn't kill anyone, she's fine with causing a little trouble. Anything's better than being bored out of your mind, and why not have a bit of fun along the way?
04. IMPULSIVENESS~
Going along with the previous weakness, Riley tends to be quite a bit impulsive, whether it's charging into a situation that she knows nothing about, or picking a random city to hang out and try to find something to hunt in. If she's bored, she really doesn't care what she does, as long as she does something. When she's that bored, god help whoever gets in her way, as she's about to cause some major mayhem.
05. WINGS~
This is more of a physical weakness, instead of a mental one, and it's pretty straight forward. Riley flies using her wings, right? So what happens if her wings get hurt? She can't fly. Simple as that. In order to keep her grounded, aim for the wings. However, good luck trying to get at them. She's fast both on the ground and in the air, and so if you're trying to take her down, you'd best be having wings too, otherwise you're not going to be able to get near her, much less injure her.[/ul]
goals~ to live and fight demons, to protect the humans from demons and other supernatural beings
secrets~ she's a genetic experiment, she's killed more people than she can count, and she's a hunter
overall personality~
Riley really has four sides to her personality. There's the hyperactive, naive child, which tends to be dominant when she's perfectly fine with the world and she's not worrying about anything. This is the state she's normally in, and is the default that she rather likes to return to. She's only roughly six months old, but her mentality is that of a sheltered young teenager that was homeschooled for her whole life and is finally starting high school with everyone else. She barely knows anything about the way the world works, and the only thing she can do is what she does best: go hunting.
Next is the cold, focused and logical hunting Riley, who, as you probably guessed, comes out when Riley is on a hunt. She knows that people's lives are on the line when she's hunting, and she changes her demeanor completely so that the optimal result will be what actually happens. In this state, she's rather distant from people, and while she cares about them, openly showing it will do nothing to keep them safe, and so she doesn't. She does immense amounts of research into the beings she's hunting, and thusly knows exactly the way to beat them and what their weaknesses all are. She doesn't try to make friends with people, only allies that will eventually be of good use. Basically, if it doesn't help her on the hunt, she doesn't do it. And that goes for people, too. If they won't help her in some way, she has no need of them.
Then there's the uncomfortable, paranoid, twitchy Riley, who takes over when she feels trapped or contained. When she's like this, she usually tries to get out of the situation as soon as possible. When she can't see the sky directly above her, she gets this way, and usually she'll hang out on a roof as opposed to being in a building. However, when she gets cramped enough that she can't stretch out her wings (she has a wingspan of fifteen feet), she starts to get claustrophobic and really panicky. The best thing for her in this kind of situation is to get her out of the small space and into the sky, so she can calm down and stop freaking out.
Lastly is the sheer destructive power of the angel she was created to be, striking down the ones who hurt those she cares about. Because her powers are so intrinsically linked to her mentality, when she displays the rare outburst of emotion taken to the extremes, her powers will go haywire. Call it a glitch in the program. She doesn't exactly know this yet, as she's never gotten that far into a relationship with someone, but she'll get there. Because she has enough power in this state to do so, she'll take down anyone who gets in her way, but she's so blinded by her emotional fit that she won't listen to reason until the threat is completely neutralized. If it takes the decimation of an entire army to make sure they're safe, she'll do so, without hesitation. That's just the way she is.

history~
Riley started out alone. Nobody was watching. Nobody else was there. She wasn't exactly sure if she was there herself. A long time later, or maybe in no time at all, the realization came to her that she must exist, must be more than some disembodied thought, because she was definitely lying on some sort of surface. She had a sense of touch, therefore she existed, and had some sort of body to feel with. Senses, senses... There were five of them, weren't there? Touch was one of them, and she knew there were others... The next sense she registered was smell, as she took her first gasp of air and realized that it was sterile, absent of the natural oddities that she somehow knew existed in the air. She could feel, and she could smell... Slowly but surely, sound started to filter in through her ears, and she could hear. Three out of five so far; things were looking up. She absently licked her dry lips, realizing that she could taste things. What was the last sense again? Oh right. Sight. In opening them, she discovered that she had working eyes.
Everything was white for a while until the rods and cones in her eyes registered the fact that her brand new eyes were open. However, it wasn't just because of that. As her eyes focused, she realized that most of the place she was in was white. White walls, white equipment, white people... Apparently she wasn't alone, as she was surrounded by people. There were both men and women around her, the men standing off at a distance and the women closer to her, making sure she was alright. She saw one of them open their mouth and sound happened, crashing onto her ears. Everybody started making noise in turn, which was confusing when all she heard was a bunch of garbled rubbish. She saw them moving about, taking the tube out of her arm and taking the stickies attached to wires off her chest. Her fingers twitched as her nerves started to fire off, pins and needles flaring up beneath her skin as her numb body started to work. She moved her arms under her to push herself up, and the women in white helped her, their hands under her back to make sure she didn't fall and hurt herself. She marveled at the feeling of their hands, the sound of her muscles creaking from disuse, and the sounds that had finally started to make sense.
Riley's awakening and subsequent months in the laboratory that she was created in went rather smoothly. She was told about her duty, her angelic grace and powers, and that she was sent down to earth so she could protect the human race from the evils that walked it. Knowing nothing else, she believed it all to be true, when in reality, they had created her, a genetic experiment, in an angel's image to fight the demons that plagued the world, as well as the coming Apocalypse, and to ensure humanity's survival. She was nicknamed Aerona, after a goddess of war and carnage, for all of the destruction she would eventually cause in the outside world. Of course, she had no knowledge of her namesake, and her progress went on as planned. She developed her powers, learned to speak fluent Latin, and was able to perform dangerous and difficult airborne feats that were impossible to anyone but her. Everything was going great, and everyone called the operation a success.
One of Riley's trainers, though, knew exactly what she was going to be used for. The woman, Lilith, had lost her teenage child just recently, and she couldn't stand to see Riley being trained to be a soldier, even when that was all she knew. She tried to get the higher ups to stop the operation, but they were under the impression that Riley would be able to rid the world of demons and the supernatural once and for all, and so they did nothing. Lilith eventually figured out that there was no way she could get anyone to abort the operation... and so she'd have to take it to Riley herself. She started it out by giving Riley a name, her daughter's name, Riley Araphen. She unofficially adopted Riley as her own, and she became Aerona Riley Araphen. It was nice for a while, but all that is good must come to an end. When the higher ups figured out what Lilith was doing, she was immediately taken off the project. However, she left a package for Riley under her bed that explained everything about the world, herself, and the Angel Project.
With the knowledge that everything she'd been told was a lie, she destroyed the laboratory, the research, and the people responsible, meticulously tracking them down all the way up to the very top brass. Upon each body, she carved the words "Percutiat te Angeli Maii" across their back, which translates to "May the angels strike you down," nailed them backwards by their hands and feet to a cross, and suspended them where their coworkers would find them. While it was mainly to instill fear, she wanted to make a point of the ones who felt that they could play God, that they could create life and not be struck down for dabbling in matters beyond their control. They needed to be punished, and all research, documents, and proof that she ever existed needed to be purged from the earth. When she was finally done, she set off to see the world and do what she did best: hunting. She didn't want to play into anyone's plans, but there were good humans out there being preyed on by the supernatural. If she could do anything, she'd do it. And it was just her luck that she could do just about everything.
